I am absolutely crazy about this book series! This second book of the Library Jumper Series had me flipping through pages like a speed demon. This story had me have so many feels that I don't know where to start! I felt overwhelmed with action, suspense, romance, drama and fantasy. Whatever you are looking for this book has it all. I picked up this book because I adored the first in the series! This book had twists I didn't expect and also broke my heart at the same time. I can't wait to read the last in the trilogy soon enough and would recommend this series to anyone who is looking to be swept off their feet! The characters in this story are so realistic and I feel a strong connection with the main character Gianna! Oh and I am definitely all about some Bastien!!!😍 The plot is fast paced yet perfectly descriptive and I would have to say this series is one of my top faves ever!!! I'm so fangirling over this series and this book is Dani-approved!

This second book in the Library Jumpers series is as awesome as the first book, Thief of Lies. The beginning of the book reacquaints us with the characters and adventures that took place in the first book. Gia and her comrades are trying to blend into a regular human lifestyle while continuing the search for the keys. Gia isn't sure who she can trust and, at times in the story, who is deserving of her trust is unpredictable. Gia also meets someone who she thought was no longer alive. Her heart also goes on a roller coaster ride and back and forth between two guys that she deeply cares for. This story stretches Gia and her capabilities, but she hangs in there and becomes stronger because of it! I rate Guardian of Secrets 5 stars for action, intrigue and a fun fantasy adventure!

Brenda Drake never fails to amaze me with her creativity and imagination. Be prepared to gasp and swoon. I wish I could jump right into this book!

Guardian of Secrets by Brenda Drake is the second book in the young adult fantasy Library Jumpers series. In the first book readers were introduced to Gia Kearns who was with her friends in a library when she spied a cute boy and while watching him he suddenly disappeared. When Gia and her friends went looking they found a book the boy left behind of libraries from around the world and when Gia accidentally spoke a phrase she found she and her friends were pulled through the book and found themselves in a library in Paris.After finding themselves halfway around the world and not sure how they got there things suddenly got worse when a demonic hound attacked. But the boy that Gia had followed came to the rescue. Arik explained that he and his friends are Sentinals charged with protecting humans and the gateways in the libraries. After learning of the strange world from which Arik came from Gia found that she herself had ties to that world that she never knew existed.Their story has now continued in Guardian of Secrets and being a continuing young adult fantasy series it’s best if readers start with the first book if they have not read that one yet as there would be a lot of plot, character and world building missing if trying to jump into this one. I mentioned in my review of Thief of Lies that this story reminded me a lot of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter books with a lot of similar elements added and I still think fans of that series would enjoy this one too.I would also warn again that while I love the action and adventure in this world that Brenda Drake has created the story does involve a lot of the old young adult tropes that I see other readers often complaining about. I’ve actually lowered my rating a tad on this installment because the teen angst bothered me a bit more in this one than the first but I was still a fan of the ongoing action and plot. Looking forward to reading book three of the series really soon and seeing where the story heads next though.I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
